Virginia State Police ID pedestrian killed in Augusta County
VERONA — Virginia State Police have identified a man was struck and killed last week on Interstate 81 in Augusta County.
The incident took place Nov. 21 at about 11 p.m. at the 225 mile marker, a press release said.
Police said a 2020 Ford Transit passenger bus was headed north on I-81 and in the left lane when it struck a pedestrian walking in the travel lane.
Police said Bradley O'Brian Reid, 36, of Lynchburg, died at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, a 22-year-old man from Monroe, New York, was not injured in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The incident remains under investigation.
