Virginia Tech online programs rank towards the top, according to U.S. News & World Report

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR)—For the third year in a row, Virginia Tech’s Master of Information Technology (VT-MIT) has been named the third-best online program in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.

VT-MIT is a collaboration between the College of Engineering and Pamplin College of Business.

“The VT-MIT program stands at the forefront of academic excellence, offering a dynamic curriculum that transcends traditional boundaries,” said Parviz Ghandforoush, associate dean for Pamplin graduate programs and executive director of the VT-MIT program.

Along with VT-MIT, U.S. News & World Report ranked other programs within both Engineering and Pamplin highly in the magazine’s 2024 Best Online Programs rankings.

Pamplin’s online MBA programs scored highly in areas of concentration in general management, ranking 13th and 14th in the nation in business analytics.

VT says three master’s degree in engineering programs saw an improvement in their scores. They include:

  • 17th for best online Graduate Engineering

  • 8th for best online Master of Industrial Engineering Programs

  • 11th for best online Master of Electrical Engineering Programs
