Virtual rapper FN Meka, who already has over 10 million followers on TikTok, has signed with Capitol Records and dropped a new single to celebrate.

After making waves online with a series of independently-released singles and hyper-online visuals, FN Meka has teamed up with gaming influencer Cody “Clix” Conrod and Gunna for “Florida Water.” Produced by Turbo, who has notably worked with Travis Scott and Lil Baby among others, the song marks Meka's major label debut.

As Music Business Worldwide reported, Capitol Music Group's Executive Vice President of Experiential Marketing and Business Development Ryan Ruden said the project meets at the intersection of music, technology and gaming culture” and “is just a preview of what’s to come.” Ruden called the release “a first of its kind,” and an “evolution of Capitol Records’ 80-year history of innovation.”

While the voice behind Meka is very much human, Capitol Music Group chair and CEO Michelle Jubelirer told the publication last year that everything about Meka is otherwise based on AI. “Florida Water” also sees the record label team with royalty-free music platform Slip.stream, which effectively makes the track available to creators to use on platforms such as YouTUbe and Twitch without the threat of demonetization or takedowns.
