Taunton Animal Shelter donation box at Frates Drive-In; season ends soon

You can help out some four-legged friends while enjoying a meal. Stop by Frates Drive-In, 1423 Somerset Ave., Taunton, where they have a donation box to help out the Taunton Animal Shelter. You can do a little good while enjoying some good food. Be sure to get there before Sunday, Oct. 29: that’s the end of their season. They’ll be closing at 5 p.m. that day. Frates will have half-price hot dogs on Oct. 28 and 29, and free ice cream on Oct. 29, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Dough Licious Pizza announces flavor of the month

The pizza’s name is coming soon, but Dough Licious Pizza, 539 Berkley St., Berkley, has a new flavor of pizza this month. The base is a garlic parmesan sauce and ricotta cheese, topped with three-blend pizza cheese, spinach, chorizo, a sprinkle of garlic, oregano, and a drizzle of olive oil.

Among other offerings this week, they’ve got a blueberry cobbler martini, with blueberry vodka, vanilla vodka, butterscotch schnapps and RumChata, garnished with a caramel cinnamon sugar rim. Or try the hot honey cheese balls: asiago and ricotta cheeses are battered in a hot honey pretzel crumb, then fried until they’re golden and crisp, served with a honey hot sauce. Entrees are fish tacos, veal marsala, and creamy Cajun scallops: fresh sea scallops dusted with Cajun seasoning, nestled in a creamy alfredo sauce, and finished with toasted breadcrumbs.
