Vocational school in Stockton works to fill electrician shortage through new accelerated program

Shortages of supplies and workers have impacted many parts of the U.S. over the course of the pandemic. This includes electricians. To help, a vocational school in Stockton is training students on the tricks of the electrician trade. "I want to better myself and I wanted to experience new things and I just want better for my life," Jason Rodriguez, a student said. "Electricians, they are a very important person. Not anybody can just hop in the field and just mess with the wires because there's a lot of safety." UEI College has 22 students that are learning more than just new skills, but also tools for their future. The school launched a new accelerated program where people can get their electrician certificate along with OSHA and CPR certification in 10 months.
