Voice-controlled NordicTrack dumbbells recalled for injury risk

(WHTM) – Thousands of voice-controlled NordicTrack dumbbells are being recalled after several people were injured by dislodging plates.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, approximately 15,4000 NordicTrack 50 LB iSelect Voice-Controlled Adjustable Dumbbells sold in the United States are subject to the recall.

The dumbbells with model NTSAW23020.0 are black and adjust from 5 to 50 pounds using an electronic motorized weight selector that responds to voice prompts or manual adjustment.

The Commission says the weight plates can dislodge from the handle during use, posing an impact hazard.

There have been 40 reports of weight plates dislodging, eight of which resulted in injuries such as contusions and abrasions.

The weights were sold online by NordicTrack, Amazon, and Dicks Sporting Goods from January 2022 through November 2023 for between $500-600.

Anyone with these weights should immediately stop using them and contact iFIT for a full refund. Known users are being contacted directly.

iFIT can be reached by calling 833-680-4348 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. MT Monday through Friday or emailing iselect-recall@ifit.com.
