Voice of the people: Critical Race Theory lives on in redrawn map

Kids holding signs against Critical Race Theory stand on stage near Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as he addresses the crowd before publicly signing HB7, "individual freedom," also dubbed the "stop woke" bill during a news conference at Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School in Hialeah Gardens, Fla., on Friday, April 22, 2022. DeSantis also signed two other bills into laws including one regarding the "big tech" bill signed last year but set aside due to a court ruling, and the special districts bill, which relates to the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

Critical Race Theory lives on in redrawn map

Gov. Ron DeSantis and his Republican cohorts show everyone what Critical Race Theory really is and how it stays alive: redrawing the voting map.

Politicians line their pockets with defense contract money

In response to James Noles' recent letter to the editor, like the writer, I served more than 20 years in the military ["Prevent genocide with American boots on the ground," May 17]. Unlike the writer, I think a million invaders coming across our southern border must be our first priority in the protection of our own nation.

When I hear that we must protect Ukraine's sovereignty, I am reminded of Viet Nam, Black Hawk Down Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan where our politicians quit and left our own people to die.

Our politicians do not allow our military to fight to win anymore; they send them to peril while they line their pockets with defense contract money. Vote, every chance you get.
