Green Hills TN Covenant School Shooting: Haven’t Had Enough?

Are we really refusing to see what is before our very eyes until it happens to our very own? Do we think those gunned down in Covenant School; the little kids, teachers, staff, and their parents, spouses, and families thought it would happen to them yesterday? No?

So, we have no reason to be surprised when it is our turn. In essence, we are volunteering our loved ones by virtue of our inaction. These weapons were thoughtfully designed for one reason; For soldiers to shoot as many of the enemy as they can, as quickly as they can, and tear up their bodies as devastatingly as possible, so each shot ensures they don’t survive.

This happens in the U.S. exponentially more than in other countries. It doesn’t have to be this way. Only vehement demands by all of us to all our elected representatives, will improve the odds that the next violent loss won’t be our own. I don’t want to get that phone call! You?

Thou shall not kill means thou shall not kill

I believe that thou shall not kill means thou shall not kill. I am in strong disagreement for most consequences for most criminal acts. The consequences impose a stronger penalty on the taxpayer than the criminal.

As a general approach, I would use the method recommended by Henry Ford in his 1922 autobiography. Namely, the consequences would entail the criminal to work while incarcerated to pay for their food, shelter, restitution, support of dependent family members and any other costs associated with their incarceration. Giving each criminal sentence severity based the severity of their penalty.
