Being pro-life and believing in the death penalty is possible

I have just read Gary Hoover's letter and do not know Mr. Hoover's age but maybe after he has lived over 8 decades the way I have he will understand that it is possible to be pro-life and still believe in the death penalty.

In my naiveté I agreed with Mr. Hoover until I was confronted with a story that happened in my hometown of a young 17-year-old high school student who was abducted and abused for 3 days and then killed.

That is when I began to believe in the death penalty.  I am still pro-life and now believe in the death penalty and I am not two faced and hypocritical.

DeSantis will never be president

Being woke makes us wiser and less frightful than we would ordinarily be if we didn't have education on our side. What you are attempting to do is shameful and is so unameircan it is unreal.

You will never be president because the American people have seen what your kind of future looks like and have resoundingly rejected it.

There should be no confusion about who can vote

Excellent article (Who’ll be arrested?” The Ledger, Sunday March 19) but how can this stuff keep happening? The process of voting should be real simple: You register to vote in your county, you are vetted for all rules, regulations, and recent laws, you get a card that says you are cleared and registered to vote, and you show it at the poll and vote.

If some intervening event happens after you have registered, such as an arrest or a move, you notify the registrar, or they notify you and your registration is voided. In any case, there should be no confusion on voting day because you have been cleared well ahead of time. Present your card at the polling place, you may vote, you may not vote.
