One nation, two flags

Former President Donald Trump and his supporters adopted our flag and presented it as the symbol of their platform. Trump's total disregard of the rule of law, disregard for Congressional oversight and refusal to accept the results of the most secure election in our voting history, has led me to this conclusion.

It is time to differentiate which flag is being flown. Will it be the one that historically so many Americans gave their lives defending or another one that was recently used as a weapon? A flag on a pole used to beat and injure the Capitol police who were defending our nation's capital and lawmakers.

I would like to differentiate the flags that are being flown. One flown by those seeking to make America less of a democracy and more like an autocratic government, a form of government where your vote may no longer count and another flown by those supporting our democratic form of government with fair and free elections.

Sadly, most supporting the former have succumbed to the “Big Lie” on the 2020 election results. There are two populations flying flags. One dishonors our long, bloody journey that seeks a true democracy and the preservation of our Republic.
