A woman from Wellington sang duets with two judges at The Voice after earning her way into the first stage of the competition this week.

Nadège, 26, sang what Judge John Legend called a "stylish" musical choice of "Get You" by Daniel Caesar. Legend competed with Chance the Rapper to get Nadège on his team.

When she told Legend that she sang his song "Ordinary People" the first time she performed in front of an audience, he suggested they sing it as a duet.

"I need to hear you sing a little bit of 'Ordinary People,' come on," Legend said. "Maybe I'll come sing with you."

And off they went. But Chance wasn't one to concede.

"I'll sing 'Ordinary People' with you, too," he said, and when she said "if you want to," he headed up onstage.

Guess who she chose to be her coach? Not the songwriter: It was Chance.

Nadège graduated from Bible college in California

Nadège said she now lives in Orange County, California, where she moved in 2020 to join the Bible college at Oceans Church, according to her Voice biography. She has graduated and is ready to move into the music industry, the bio says.
