Voila! Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center presents 'An American in Paris'

MIDLAND – Feel like you're whisked away to the springtime city streets of France, as the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, continues its 2022-2023 season with the classic musical "An American in Paris!"

Shows run April 28-30 and May 5-7, inspired by the Academy-Award-winning 1951 film starring Gene Kelly.

The Broadway stage adaption opened in 2015 and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards that same year.

The story follows a young, American GI navigating life in post-war Paris, when he has a chance encounter with a beautiful French girl. Orchestrated by the iconic George Gershwin and featuring vivid choreography, romance and possibility radiate off the stage.

The principal cast includes Brett Barthelemy, Maranda Syrko, Payton Heath, Anna Byers, Grace Baker and Dan Leroy.

To enhance the French chic, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center will welcome the PGH Crepes food truck, selling signature sweet and savory crepes two hours prior to every performance. Patrons are invited to enjoy their crepes in Lincoln Park’s BlackBox Theater, which will be transformed into a Parisian café with a small selection of pastries, fresh flowers, a flare of street art and plenty of photo opportunities.

“This musical has been such a joy to bring to our stage and feels especially timely to share during the 2022-2023 season,” said Justin Fortunato, producing artistic director of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. “Thisbeautiful story is told in breathtaking fashion by this group of artisans, and draws attention to the importanceof love, friendship and art in times of tribulation. We can’t wait to welcome you all to our little slice of Parisright here in Pennsylvania.”
