VOLLEYBALL: Beavers swept at Upper Iowa, dropping final set 25-2

Oct. 15—FAYETTE, Iowa. — Friday night's scoreboard was an unforgiving one to the Bemidji State volleyball team.

The Beavers were swept away 3-0 against Upper Iowa in Fayette, Iowa. They lost by 25-19 and 25-17 scores in the first two sets, but the Peacocks owned the third set by a whopping 25-2 margin.

Friday night marked the first time since at least 2013 that BSU had fewer than five points in a single set.

Bemidji State hit -.300 in the final frame, while Upper Iowa attacked at a .400 clip. The Peacocks (11-8, 5-7 NSIC) scored the first 15 points of the third set before the Beavers (3-17, 2-10 NSIC) got on the board with a kill from Hally Holker. BSU scored again on an Upper Iowa attack error, which made it 20-2, but the Peacocks scored the final five points to clinch the win.

Bemidji State resumes play with a 2 p.m. meeting against Winona State on Saturday, Oct. 15, in Winona.
