Last week: Last week's standout performers in high school volleyball

Kayla Jennings, Lakeland

She leads the Hornets in kills and aces and put together a solid all-around week, recording a 17-kill, 19-dig, 10-ace triple-double against Yorktown, after posting 20 kills, 18 digs and three aces in a sweep of Somers. Jennings has been one of the catalysts behind the Hornets' undefeated start.

Ciara McDermott, Pearl River

She's got one of the top swings in Rockland and she put that on display against Westchester foes Eastchester, Gorton and Panas in a 2-1 stretch for the Pirates. She totaled 41 kills and 30 digs for the week, highlighted by a 16-kill, 17-dig performance in a sweep of Eastchester and was a standout for Pearl River in its five-set loss against Panas, where she had 16 kills and 13 digs.

Angelyse Picado, North Rockland

The Red Raiders picked up three more wins this past week. Picado, a senior setter, dished out a combined 52 Assists across their victories over Suffern and Tappan Zee. To make things even sweeter, she reached the 1,000-assist milestone.

Hope Suh, Horace Greeley

The sophomore libero has been such a key ingredient in the Quakers' successful start, that she was elevated to co-captain midway through last week. She showed why she was worthy of the role with her leadership and on-court intuition, piling up a total of 55 digs across wins over Ossining, Pawling and Port Chester. She was vital in a five-set win over Ossining, where she had 28 digs, five assists and three aces.

Kelly Tula, Hamilton

A broken thumb hasn't been enough to stop the junior middle hitter. The Hamilton co-captain tallied 20 kills, 10 digs and 13 aces across their 2-0 week that featured wins over Keio and East Ramapo. She topped off her productive week with all-tournament honors at the Red Raider tournament.

Carlie Tretera, Carmel

The senior libero has been a bright spot in victory or defeat, remaining a consistent performer across a 2-2 week for the Rams, which included wins over Ketcham and Poughkeepsie and losses to Brewster and New Rochelle. A strong server and a tenacious player defensively, she tallied 109 digs and 14 aces, and even chipped in on the scoring end with nine kills.
