Volusia County to open applications for over $4.5M in affordable housing funds

The Volusia County Administration Center, where the County Council chambers are located, is in downtown DeLand.

Volusia County has over $4.5 million in State Housing Initiatives Partnership funds available for affordable housing.

The county plans to use the funds mostly for "homeownership counseling; program administration; and housing strategies for homebuyer assistance, emergency repair, and wind hazard mitigation," according to a county news release.

The county will start accepting applications on Nov. 28 and will stop taking applications once the funds run out.
