Volusia-Flagler-St. Johns High School Athlete of the Week poll: Jan. 24

The polls are open!

It's time to vote for the Volusia-Flagler-St. Johns Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 17-22. All in-season sports will be eligible.

The News-Journal and Record gather nominees from scores and stats e-mailed to the sports desk during the week by coaches across the area. Coaches can email nominees to sports@news-jrnl.com.

Voting begins each Monday and closes at 10 a.m. Thursday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour.

Five Star champs: DeLand takes down Flagler Palm Coast for Five Star championship

Soccer

Olivia Bori, Bartram Trail: The junior dropped into central midfield and helped the Bears blitz a stout Creekside defense with two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win.

Kalli Robinson, Tocoi Creek: Scored a hat-trick against Episcopal and added four goals against Matanzas last Thursday.

Jack Moberly, Flagler Palm Coast: The freshman netted a pair of second-half goals to overturn a halftime deficit against University and secure the Bulldogs' first season of double-digit wins since 2018.

Adam Hill, DeLand: The senior forward scored twice in DeLand's impressive 4-0 win over Seabreeze.

Jonathan Luce, Ponte Vedra: The senior dished out two assists in 57 minutes in Tuesday's 3-1 win over St. Augustine, and assisted the lone Sharks goal in a 1-1 draw versus Fletcher two nights later.

Nicholas Lentsch, Creekside: The senior provided the game-winning goal in a 1-0 triumph over Mandarin on Wednesday, and scored again in Thursday's 8-0 rout of Tocoi Creek.

Andrew Alvarez, Matanzas: The Pirates' leading scorer tallied his second hat trick of the season in Thursday's 5-0 win over Orange Park.

Basketball

Alana Francis, Father Lopez: Francis recorded 26 points in a 44-24 win over Seabreeze on Wednesday.

Alli Fifield, Nease: The senior had a game-high 20 points in a 50-48 win over Andrew Jackson on Friday.

Reegan Mayer, Ponte Vedra: Meyer had a season-high 17 in the Sharks' 47-43 win over Creekside on Friday.

Weightlifting

Andie Tice, Matanzas: Tice led the Pirates to a district title and broke the school record in her weight class with a 150-pound bench

Wrestling

Seth Davis, FPC: Had two pins at the state duals last weekend.
