Here are the Volusia-Flagler-St. Johns track stars running for a state title this week
The state championships are this week and several area athletes are gearing up for a chance at a title.
Districts were a primer and the regionals were an audition for the finale. Many area athletes made it to the next round but only a few of them stood out.
Here are the area regional champs to watch out for at the state finale.
Bartram Trail
The Bears finished second 4A Region 1 and had two regional champions.
Boys’ Pole Vault: Samuel Martins
Boys’ Long Jump: Elo Modozie
Creekside
The Knights girls and boys teams finished fifth in 4A Region 1.
Girls’ 100: Sydney Campbell
Nease
The boys’ team finished fourth in 4A Region 1 and had two regional champs
Boys’ 800: Rheinhardt Harrison
Boys’ 110H: Cyrus Ways
Boys’ 300H: Cyrus Ways
Ponte Vedra
Both Shark teams dominated 3A Region 1. The boys finished third and the girls won.

Boys’ Discus: Nathan Lebowitz
Girls’ 1600: Lindy White
Girls’ 3200: Ellie Moritz
Girls’ 100H: Amelia Coker
Atlantic
The boys’ team finished fourth in 2A Region 2.
4X400 Relay: Emanuel Preston, Aidan Dixon, Jonathan Killingsworth, Kentwan Royal
Boys’ High Jump: Jacob Hippo
New Smyrna Beach
The boys’ team finished fifth in 3A Region 2 and had three champions. The girls finished 20th
Boys’ Shot Put: Chance Tressler
Boys’ Javelin: Cole Crkvenac
Mainland
The boys finished as runners-up in 3A Region 2.
Boys’ 4X100 Relay: Ezaiah Shine, Nathaniel Davis, Devin Franklin, Jordan Porter
Seabreeze
The Lady Sandcrabs finished 4th in 3A Region 2.
Girls’ 800: Ella Chandler
Tocoi Creek
The Toros’ boys’ team finished 8th in 2A Region 1.
