Here's Augusta-area high school football player of the week for Week 5
The people have spoken and the Augusta-area high school football player of the week for Week 5 is Westside tailback Jeanarion Kamga.
Kamga earned the top spot with 56 percent of the votes. Harlem quarterback Ryan Newman came in second with 28 percent, while Augusta Christian linebacker Wesley Michaelson took third with 14 percent.

Nominees
Clark Jackson, Aquinas
Aquinas' jack of all trades was all over the place in Friday's 27-20 loss to Harlem. He carried the football 22 times for 150 yards and caught 10 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. For good measure, Jackson added 12 total tackles and two sacks on defense.
Ryan Newman, Harlem
Newman threw a pair of touchdown passes in the win over Harlem, including a 60-yarder to Jon Jon Howard to put the Bulldogs on the board. His second was a 28-yarder to Keundris Williams with about nine minutes left in regulation, which proved to be enough for the win.
Marshall Flowers, Burke County
Flowers played a key role in Burke County's 28-21, overtime win over Oconee County. His two touchdown passes were the Bears' biggest scores of the night, with the first tying the game to send it into overtime. His second was the game-winner in the extra period.
Bryant Simpson, Cross Creek
Simpson, a senior captain, had a pair of interceptions in Cross Creek's 32-8 win over Savannah. It was the Razorbacks' first win of the season.
Joseph Jean, Grovetown
Jean carried the football 14 times for 161 yards and four touchdowns (two of more than 50 yards) in Grovetown's 49-27 win over Jefferson County.
Jeanarion Kamga, Westside
Kamga rushed 16 times for 70 yards and added an eight-yard reception in Westside's 19-7 win over Josey Saturday. It was the Patriots' first win of the season.
Wesley Michaelson, Augusta Christian
Michaelson recorded 19 total tackles and 0.5 tackles-for-loss in Augusta Christian's 30-22 loss to trinity collegiate.
DJ Walton, Evans
Walton completed 14 of 24 passes for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Evans' 27-21 loss to Strom Thurmond. He also added 17 carried for 91 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
