Nate Brinza

Canandaigua sophomore drove in nine runs, as he hit two home runs — including a grand slam — and finished with three hits during a runaway win over Wellsville.

Brody Burgess

The Victor golfer led the Blue Devils to an 8-0 start thanks to some low rounds. Burgess shot three-under-par 32 in a win over Pittsford Mendon at the Mendon Golf Club on Monday. He then shot an even-par-36 in beating Honeoye Falls-Lima at the Lima Country Club on Wednesday. On Thursday, Burgess shot five-over-par 77 as Victor beat Fairport at the Midvale Country Club on Thursday.

Marlayna Cartagena

The Irondequoit softball star helped the Eagles to a 8-0 start. She struck out 19 batters in two games, including 12Ks against Canandaigua. Cartagena even shut out Gates Chili in a five-inning 15-0 victory.

Teagan Fingar

The sophomore attackman helped Penn Yan go 2-1 last week with 12 goals and 6 assists, including a six-goal performance in a win over Mynderse and four goals in a win over Churchville-Chili.

Zoe Marcus

Fairport senior ran the season's fastest 1,500-meter race, 4 minutes, 48.20 seconds at the Depew Wildcat Invitational track and field meet. She also ran a leg on the team's first-place 4 x 400 or 1,600 relay (4:14.27).

Mara Misiurewicz

The junior midfielder scored 20 goals to help the Greece Storm go 3-0 with wins over Churchville-Chili, Gates Chili and Newark/Midlakes.

Liv Schorr

The senior midfielder scored 11 goals and had 11 draw controls to help the Canandaigua girls lacrosse team go 4-0, which included wins over defending Class D state champ Skaneateles and Class C state finalist Honeoye Falls-Lima.

Charlie Thyroff

The Pittsford Sutherland tennis star has led the Knights to a 7-0 start, but it wasn't easy. At first singles, Thyroff defeated Penfield's Alan Ratner in a back-and-forth three-set marathon 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7). Thyroff also beat Webster Schroeder stud Griffin Monrad 6-0, 6-1.
