Below are the nominees for The Charlotte Observer high school athlete of the week.

The poll closes Friday.

Kaiya Bond, West Cabarrus basketball: The 5-foot-11 sophomore scored 18 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had two steals in a 59-40 win over previously unbeaten Marvin Ridge Dec. 15.

Lili Booker, Mallard Creek basketball: The 5-6 senior scored 18 points, had five steals and two assists in a 96-7 win over Hopewell Dec. 12.

Booker, a Longwood University (VA) signee, followed that up with 32 points, six steals, four assists and one rebound in a 67-51 victory over North Mecklenburg Dec. 15.

Kate Breault, Hough basketball: The 5-7 sophomore guard scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Hough to a 62-51 win over Chambers Dec. 12.

Breault scored nine points and had five rebounds in a 66-13 win at West Mecklenburg Dec. 15.

K.B. Brown, South Mecklenburg basketball: The 5-4 freshman had a triple-double — 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals — in a 61-35 win over Palisades Dec. 15.

Brown also had 15 points, four rebounds, five steals and one assist in a 69-24 victory at Berry Dec. 12.

Brown finished off the week with 11 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 53-52 win at United Faith Dec. 16.

Brown recently got a scholarship offer from Gardner-Webb University, according to South Mecklenburg basketball coach Justin Clarke.

Emma Condo, Hough swimming: The Huskies’ senior captain finished second in the 50 and 100 freestyle, while helping the 200 and 400 freestyle relays to victory as Hough beat North Mecklenburg and West Mecklenburg Dec. 14.

Condo celebrated her 18th birthday on the same day.

Ma-Kaela Gidney, Hickory Ridge basketball: The 5-6 sophomore scored 18 points to go with four rebounds, three steals and two assists in a 52-43 win at Sun Valley Dec. 15.

The next day, Gidney had 15 points, five steals and three assists in a 70-28 win at Central Cabarrus in the Phenom Hoops’ Ish Smith tournament.

Maci Harwood, Mount Pleasant basketball: The 5-8 senior scored 32 points, including eight 3-pointers, to lead Mount Pleasant to a 72-34 win over Forest Hills Dec. 15.

Harwood had 24 points in the fourth quarter of the same game.

Neely Hume, Charlotte Latin basketball: The 5-7 senior scored a career-high 29 points, including seven 3-pointers, five steals and three rebounds in a 67-36 win over Pine Lake Prep Dec. 13.

Hume also had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, in a 68-35 victory at Metrolina Christian Dec. 15.

Amelia Lawrence, Union Academy swimming: The Cardinals’ junior captain won the 100 butterfly (1:13.08), the 100 backstroke (1:08.12) and helped the 200 medley relay to victory in a meet with Corvian Charter, Gray Stone Day, Mount Pleasant and North Hills Christian last week.

Jaida McClure, Providence Day basketball: The 5-9 sophomore scored 17 points and had six steals to lead Providence Day to a 53-49, overtime win over Wesleyan Christian Dec. 16.

McClure recently got a scholarship offer from George Washington University, according to Providence Day basketball coach Josh Springer.

Kaylee McDonald, Marvin Ridge swimming: The Mavericks’ senior won the 200 freestyle (1:53.30), the 500 freestyle (5:06.62) and swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:40.65) and 400 freestyle (3:40.44) relay teams at the Union County Championships at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center Dec. 12.

The Marvin Ridge girls’ swim team also won the Union County title the same day.

McDonald is a Harvard University commit.

Annie Miller, Metrolina Christian indoor track: The Warriors’ junior ran a personal and school record 2:57.17 to win the 1,000-meter run at the Liberty Christmas High School Invitational at Liberty University Dec. 16.

Miller also ran a personal and school record 43.27 to win her heat and finished 23rd overall in the 300-meter dash at the same meet.
