This week’s nominees

Gabe Bolivar, Pine Lake Prep: in a 49-14 win over Bishop McGuinness, Bolivar had seven tackles, three sacks, two quarterback hurries and he returned a blocked field goal 76 yards for a score. Bolivar has 7.5 sacks in four games.

Jake Dulksi, Christ The King: senior receiver/defensive back had a pair of interceptions in Friday’s 27-20 win over Mountain Island Charter. The Crusaders improved to 6-1 for the first time in school history. On offense, Dulski had six catches for 146 yards and a score.

Solomon Ford, Olympic: sophomore defensive back/wide receiver had six tackles and two interceptions in a 63-14 win over Berry. On offense, he caught two passes for a 40 yards and a touchdown.

Liam Groulx, Providence Day: in a 48-8 win over Fayetteville’s Trinity Christian, Groulx had six Tackles, two tackles for a loss, plus a sack, a QB hurry, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and two interceptions. On offense he a touchdown catch.

Josiah Hunter, Mooresville: two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, plus a blocked punt, a forced fumble and six tackles in a 47-14 win over South Iredell.

Eliyt Nairne, Olympic: senior defensive tackle had five tackles, two for a loss, plus three pass breakups, a fumble recovery and a touchdown in a 63-14 win over Berry.

Kyle Perry, Hickory Ridge: In Friday’s 55-10 over previously unbeaten Lake Norman, Perry had 17 tackles, including 13 solos. He also had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a 30-yard touchdown return.

Isaiah Shirley, Watauga: In Friday’s win over Alexander Central, Shirley had 12 tackles, a sack and two tackles for a loss.

Aaron Steele Logan, Charlotte Latin: in a 29-16 road win over previously unbeaten Raleigh Ravenscroft, Logan had 15 tackles, four tackles for a loss, one sack and one forced fumble. On offense, he ran 12 times for 118 yards and a score.

Donovan Thompson, Northwest Cabarrus: in a 48-0 win over Carson, Thompson had two interceptions for a total of 101 return yards, plus five tackles and a tackle for a loss.

Khareem Thompson, Hickory Ridge: eight tackles in Friday’s blowout win over previously unbeaten Lake Norman. Two of his tackles were for a loss, and Thompson forced two fumbles and blocked a field goal.

Nick Vinson, Burns: in a 48-6 win over Thomas Jefferson, Vinson had 11 tackles, two sacks and another tackle for a loss.

Khyler Watson, Ardrey Kell: in a 43-12 win over South Meck, Watson had eight tackles, two sacks, three tackles for a loss, a pass breakup and five quarterback pressures.
