Meet the nominees for The Charlotte Observer boys and girls lacrosse players of the year. To be nominated a player need to rank among the top 10 in a MaxPreps statistical category for the year.

Boys Lacrosse Nominees
Jake Carpenter, Watauga: ranked No. 9 in the state in takeaways (51).
Jake Dalton, Lake Norman Charter: led the state with 87 assists. Dalton led the state with 143 points.
Jack Gervasini, Christ The King: No. 3 in save percentage in the state (0.727).
Ben Habel, Christ The King: No 3 in North Carolina with 64 assists. Was No. 14 in points (104).
George Kalos, Hough: 298 ground balls won led North Carolina. Kalos was third in face-off percentage (0.87)
Ryan Kazella, Weddington: Was No. 10 in North Carolina with 70 goals this season. Kazella had 96 points, 19th in the state.
Noah Mcgovern, Lake Norman Charter: 4.14 goals against average was No. 3 in the state.
Tyler Price, Lake Norman Charter: His 77 goals tied for second-most in North Carolina this season. Price was No. 7 in assists with 53 and No. 4 in points (130).
David Pritchard, Hickory: 5.85 goals against average was No. 9 in the state. Pritchard was No. 1 in save percentage (0.75).
Joseph Royster, Lake Norman Charter: Had 210 ground balls won, fourth in the state.
Drew Tenzer, Myers Park: No. 4 in takeaways (64).
