Clarksville Academy's Jacques Wyatt, Northwest's Kierah Sessoms garner votes for athletes of the week

We've got a new set of high school athletes of the week in Clarksville as Clarksville Academy wide receiver Jacques Wyatt III and Northwest soccer star Kierah Sessoms capture the boys and girls honors this week.

Wyatt captured 8,126 votes for 57.5% of the boys' total (14,121). Wyatt caught two touchdown passes from quarterback D.J. Merriweather as the Cougars beat Webb School last Friday to improve to 2-0 on the season.

West Creek's Montel Richardson finished second in the voting with 4,144 votes followed by Rossview tailback Brandon Rushing (947 votes).

On the girls' side it was Sessoms play that led to her 3,174 total votes (50.7%). Sessoms had three goals and an assist in a 7-0 win over Hopkinsville (Ky.) last week. She held off last week's athlete of the week winner, Madison Bennett, who came in second this week with 2,848 votes.

Rossview's Kristen DeSantis finished third with 194 votes.
