It is time again to vote for the Community Credit Union Florida Athlete of the Week at 321preps.com and floridatoday.com.

The following athletes were nominated for their performances from March 20-25. You will find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Be sure to refresh if the poll isn't visible upon first loading. Voting will be open until noon on Thursday.

Our last winner was Jayvon Morris of Merritt Island Christian baseball.

Morris received 20,917 votes of 42,484 cast at 321preps.com. That was 49.24 percent. Viera lacrosse player Catherine Zeek followed, with 16,912 votes.

Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. E-mail the athlete's accomplishments for the previous Monday through Saturday to bmccallum@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. each Monday.

Here are this week's nominees:

Eyden Diebert, Cocoa Beach lacrosse

Diebert set school records with 26 faceoff wins and 24 ground balls versus Matanzas. He scored four times and won 23 faceoffs against Merritt Island.

Jasmine Francik, Melbourne softball

Francik struck out 25 West Nassau batters Tuesday and struck out 10 against Astronaut on Friday.

Shae Janke, Merritt Island Christian softball

Janke struck out 12 in seven innings against Calvary Chapel, allowing no earned runs. She struck out seven and went 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs against City of Life.

Zach Johnson, West Shore lacrosse

Johnson scored 10 goals, assisted on three, got nine ground balls and won 28 faceoffs in a game against Edgewood on Tuesday.

David Morrissey, Eau Gallie baseball

Morrissey struck out eight batters and walked two while giving up just one hit as the Commodores became the first Brevard team to beat Merritt Island in 2023.

Liana Tyson, Cocoa track and field

Tyson's 100-meter win in 11.59 seconds at Astronaut tied for sixth this year in Florida, and her 200 of 24.20 ranked ninth in the state for all classes.

Evelyn VanZwieten, Holy Trinity track and field

VanZwieten's throw of 133 feet, 5 inches won the javelin at the Astronaut Invitational on Friday. She also won the shot put with a throw of 36-7 1/2.

Skylar Waggoner, Viera softball

Waggoner recorded 13 strikeouts against Rockledge and struck out 13 more against Bayside in games last week.
