Hudson Bonetti of Delbarton voted Morris/Sussex Athlete of the Week

After four days of voting, Delbarton sophomore Hudson Bonetti was selected as the Morris/Sussex Athlete of the Week.

Bonetti won three matches, including in a third-set tiebreak against Montville, while filling in for Delbarton's injured first-singles player.

Ayden Alexander

Pope John senior pitcher

Alexander pitched a complete-game no-hitter as the Lions defeated Montville, 7-1, allowing an unearned run and striking out 11.

Roman Citro

High Point senior golfer

Citro hds a 37 stroke average (1.3 over par) as High Point beat North Warren, Jefferson and Kittatinny.

Kim Curcio

Hackettstown junior midfielder

Curcio had five goals, two assists, four ground balls, nine draw controls and two forced turnovers in the Tigers' losses to Pompton Lakes and West Orange.

Jobella Estiverne

Morristown senior sprinter/jumper

Estiverne won the 100 and 200 meters, and the long and triple jumps, helping Morristown defeat Chatham 75-56, in a road dual meet on April 3.

Veer Gupta

Morris Hills sophomore first singles

Gupta, a sophomore from Parsippany, went undefeated at first singles as Morris Hills defeated Morristown and Mount Olive, and earned the program's first victory against Montville.

Liam Kelly

Lenape Valley senior goalie

Kelly allowed 28 goals and totaled 36 saves, including the 200th of his career, in Lenape Valley's three losses.

Liam Kilmer

Mendham senior first singles

Kilmer logged first-singles victories over Sparta, Chatham and Livingston as Mendham finished 2-1.

Autumn Liebhauser

Randolph sophomore left fielder

Liebhauser batted .688 with a double, two home runs, eight runs scored and five RBI as Randolph went 3-1.

Pete Malizzi

Hopatcong junior infielder/pitcher

Malizzi struck out 20 and allowed one earned run, establishing a 0.78 ERA in his first nine innings. At the plate, he went 4-for-11 with two eoubles, two walks, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored as Hopatcong went 0-4.

Sarah Kate Preston

Madison sophomore midfielder

Preston totaled three goals, four assists, 13 ground balls, 19 draw controls and two forced turnovers as Madison went 1-1, defeating West Morris and losing to Westfield.

Colin Sabia

Jefferson senior long-stick midfielder

Sabia had 12 ground balls in the season opener, breaking the school record of 455 for his career. He totaled six goals, three assists and 33 ground balls, winning 27 of 41 faceoffs, as Jefferson went 3-0.

Sabrina Saunders

Mendham sophomore goalie

Saunders made 17 saves and allowed 19 goals as Mendham defeated Ramapo and lost to Ridgewood, 13-12, on April 6.

Nick Shuhet

Mountain Lakes senior pitcher/outfielder

Shuhet pitched a complete-game five hitter with 11 strikeouts as Mountain Lakes beat Madison, 3-2, on April 4. At the plate, he went 3-for-6 with a double, an RBI and a run scored as the Lakers went 1-1.

Toby Smith

Hanover Park senior pitcher

Smith went 7-for-10 with two doubles, six RBI and five runs scored as Hanover Park went 3-0. He pitched 3⅔ no-hit innings with nine strikeouts in the Hornets' 3-0 opening-day victory against Parsippany Hills.

Gavin Timoney

Mendham senior midfielder

Timoney had five goals and an assist, including four against Mountain Lakes, as the Minutemen lost to the Lakers and Bernards.

Jack Veith

Wallkill Valley junior pitcher/outfielder

Veith allowed two hits and one run, striking out seven, as the Rangers fell to Hackettstown, 1-0, on Opening Day. He was 3-for-5 with a single and a run scored in Wallkill Valley's two losses.
