It's time to vote for the Gastonia and Shelby area Week 12 high school football and fall sports Athletes of the Week.

You can learn about this week's candidates and submit your votes below. Only votes submitted via the poll below will be counted. The poll is open through midnight Thursday.

Our weekly top performers list and athlete of the week nominees are compiled from information provided to The Gaston Gazette and Shelby Star by coaches, athletic directors or team statisticians through emails, MaxPreps or mentioning @JoeLHughesII in game results and highlights posted to Twitter.

Football Offensive Player of the Week

Nathan Aguilar, Forestview: Caught nine passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in a 35-14 loss at Tuscola. He also led the Jaguars with 12 tackles and an interception.

Patrick Blee, South Point: Rushed for a season-high 225 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in a 48-13 win over Hickory.

Andre Bost, Lincolnton: Rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in a 37-36 win over Randleman.

Nate Eaton, Mountain Island Charter: Rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in a 16-14 win over Bessemer City.

Ny’Tavious Huskey, Crest: Completed 17-of-29 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns in a 33-7 win over Statesville.

Teddy Jeffries, Kings Mountain: Rushed for touchdowns of 44 and 42 yards in a 42-7 win over St. Stephens.

Isaiah Johnson, Stuart Cramer: Caught five passes ford 124 yards and a touchdown in a 40-13 loss to West Charlotte.

Bricen Kee, Shelby: Rushed for 113 yards on 25 carries in a 30-13 win over Forest Hills.

Tyler Mizzell, East Lincoln: Completed 9-of-10 passes for 163 yards and four touchdowns, along with three carries for 39 yards and another TD in a 51-6 win over Ashe County.

Graham Warlick, Burns: Caught a 7-yard touchdown pass, in addition to 9- and 72-yard touchdown runs in a 62-13 win over Morehead.

Football Defensive Player of the Week

Hampton Good, East Lincoln: Intercepted two passes in a 51-6 win over Ashe County.

Drew Hollifield, Shelby: Led the team with 13 tackles (one for a loss) in a 30-13 win over Forest Hills. He also rushed for three touchdowns.

Collin Huss, Cherryville: Had 26 tackles in a 40-14 loss to Robbinsville.

Will Ross, South Point: Had 11 tackles in a 48-13 win over Hickory.

Jake Lloyd, Kings Mountain: Returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown in a 42-7 win over St. Stephens.

Ashton Miller, Mountain Island Charter: Had 10 tackles (six for a loss), five sacks, a blocked field goal and a blocked punt that produced the game-winning safety in a 16-14 win over Bessemer City.

DaVonyae Pettis, Crest: Was in on multiple sacks and forced a fumble in his team’s 33-7 win over Statesville.

Letrasky Pressley, Stuart Cramer: Had 11 tackles (one for a loss), a sack, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal in a 40-13 loss to West Charlotte.

Athlete of the Week

Tanner Baxter, Mountain Island Charter: After scoring a goal in his team’s 4-3 win over Corvian Community, he scored two more in his team’s win over Mountain Heritage.

Katherine Hopkins, Lincolnton: Capped her career with a state 2A cross country title, finishing with a time of 19:20.05. Her time was almost a minute better than runner-up Anika Raburn of NC School of Science & Math.

Rylan Miller, Forestview: Scored two goals in his team’s 5-1 win over North Henderson.

Macy Parks, North Lincoln: Won the state 3A cross country title, finishing with a time of 18:58.80. Her effort helped North Lincoln claim the 3A team title, the Knights 18 points better than second place West Henderson.

Blake Swanson, East Lincoln: Had four goals and four assists in a 10-3 win over North Buncombe.
