Meet the Week 7 Savannah-area High School Football Player of the Week
Savannah Country Day's Rooster Bing is a leader in the locker room and on the field for the Hornets football team.
The two-way lineman had a huge impact on both sides of the ball last week in a 35-21 win over Beach. Bing had eight tackles, including four for losses and a pair of sacks, while also paving the way for the Hornets ground game on the offensive line.
Bing was selected as the Savannah Morning News High School Football Player of the Week in a poll of readers. He garnered 79.2% of the vote. His teammate, freshman Josh Washington, was second with 16.8%, and Jayden Evans of Effingham County was third with 1.5% of the vote.

Rooster Bing, Savannah Country Day
The junior lineman starred on both sides of the ball for the Hornets in a 35-21 win over Johnson. He had eight tackles, including four for losses and a pair of sacks, while also playing a pivotal role on the offensive line.
Logan Brooking, Savannah Christian
The standout sophomore had 13 tackles, including four for losses, in a 55-20 win over Long County.
Zyere Edwards, St. Andrew's
The senior had three rushing touchdowns, including a 65-yarder, in a 28-21 win over Robert Toombs Academy.
Nate Hayes, Effingham County
The junior rushed for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns and completed 13 of 21 passes for 221 yards and a score in a 31-14 win over Glynn Academy.
Josh Washington, Savannah Country Day
The standout freshman as seven catches for a career-high 129 yards and a pair of scores in the win over Beach.
Tyler Penrose, Savannah Christian
The junior had 11 tackles, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and added 49 all-purpose yards in the Raiders' win over Long County.
Jayden Evans, Effingham County
The junior rushed for 108 yards and a score in the win over Glynn Academy.
Carlos Singleton, Liberty County
The junior quarterback connected on 12 of 24 passes for 241 yards and three scores in a 34-0 win over Groves.
Anddreas McKinney, Bryan County
The freshman had 15 tackles, three tackles for losses, a sack, caused a fumble and ran another back for a score in a 28-7 win over Montgomery County.
Ron Golden, Liberty County
The junior had four catches for 140 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown, in the win over Groves.
