Riverside WR Cayden Cosby is The Greenville News Week 6 football Athlete of the Week

Another week, another chance for one player to be named The Greenville News high school football Athlete of the Week.

And the voters have spoken. The Greenville News Week 6 high school football Athlete of the Week is Riverside wide receiver Cayden Cosby. The senior wideout caught five passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors win over Wade Hampton. On the season he now has 11 receiving touchdowns on the year.

Cosby received 35.8% of the 2,179 votes cast in this week's poll. In second was Laurens kicker Roberto Luna, who kicked a game-winning field goal against Greer. In third place in the poll was Mauldin running back Devan Ortega.

Woods Windham, Christ Church: Windham, who was recently offered by Division I Furman, passed for over 300 yards and five touchdowns with a near-perfect 15-of-16 passing performance.

LaDainnian Martin, Greer: Martin returned from an ankle injury to rush 29 times for 207 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry and it was his third 200-plus yard rushing night in the past two seasons.

Roberto Luna, Laurens: Luna kicked two field goals in the final eight minutes of the Raiders game at Greer. His second of the fourth quarter, which came from 25 yards out and with 15 seconds left on the clock, gave Laurens a 20-17 win.

Devan Ortega, Mauldin: Ortega had a big game against TL Hanna with 28 rushing attempts for 159 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Cayden Cosby, Riverside: Cosby had five receptions for 96 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Wade Hampton.
