Mason Alexander, Great Falls’ Golf: The Red Devils’ eighth-grader shot a career-best 44 with two pars at Chester Golf Club, April 20.

Alexander’s round helped Great Falls tie Chester at 204 in regulation play. Chester beat Great Falls by one shot on the second hole of a playoff.

Alexander is averaging 50.9 per nine holes this season.

Mackenzie Boggess, Clover Girls’ Track: The Blue Eagles’ sophomore won the long jump in a personal-best 17-8 at York, April 20.

Boggess also won the 100-meter hurdles ((17.45) and the triple jump (34-4.75) at the same meet.

Garrett Brown, South Pointe Track: The Stallions’ junior won the Rock Hill City title in both the 1600-meter run (4:26.50) and the 3200-meter run (9:44.39) on his home track, April 20-21.

Brown’s efforts also helped the South Pointe boys’ track team to a Rock Hill City Championship victory.

Isabella Craze, York Prep Girls’ Soccer: The Patriots’ sophomore defender led York Prep to back-to-back shutouts this week.

York Prep (9-1-1) beat Andrew Jackson 5-0, April 20, and then tied York at 0-0, the next day.

The York Prep defense has allowed only nine goals in 11 games this season.

Ava DeLise, Catawba Ridge Girls’ Lacrosse: The Copperheads’ sophomore midfielder scored four goals in a 12-9 loss at Christ Church Episcopal in the first round of the 4A state playoffs, April 18.

DeLise scored 41 goals for Catawba Ridge (7-7) this season.

El DesErmia, Fort Mill Softball: The Yellow Jackets’ sophomore went 9-for-12 with three RBI, three runs scored, while pitching in two games with 14 strikeouts as Fort Mill beat Buford and Spring Valley and lost to Clover this week.

DesErmia’s best game of the week came at Spring Valley as she went 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBI, while earning the win on the mound with a complete-game, 11 strikeout, effort, April 18.

Fort Mill (12-6) also beat Buford 8-6, April 19, and lost to Clover 8-3, April 21.

Braden Gritz, Fort Mill Soccer: The Yellow Jackets’ junior captain scored all four goals this week as Fort Mill beat Clover and Spring Valley.

Gritz scored on a penalty kick as Fort Mill won 1-0 at Spring Valley, April 18.

Gritz had a hat trick (three goals) in a 3-2 victory over Clover, April 21.

Gritz has 15 goals and six assists for Fort Mill (10-7-1) this season.

Mason Kucia, Indian Land Golf: The Warriors’ sophomore shot a two-over par (144) to win the two-day, Southern Cross Championship at Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, April 21-22.

Kucia shot a four over par, 75, on day one, before coming back with a two-under par, 69, to win the event.

Kucia, a two-time, S.C. state champion, led his Indian Land boys’ golf team to a 15th-place finish at the Southern Cross Championships.

Kylie McManemin, Legion Collegiate Girls’ Lacrosse: The Lancers’ sophomore scored nine goals in a 20-16 win over Ardrey Kell as the Charlotte STEM Academy, April 21.

McManemin has 35 goals and 13 assists for Legion Collegiate (7-4) this season.

Judah Nash, Andrew Jackson Track: The Volunteers’ sophomore won the 1600 and 3200-meter runs in a home meet, April 18. He also finished third in the 800-meter run at the same meet to lead his team to victory by 98.5 points.

Nash also was runner-up in both the 1600 and 3200-meter runs at North Central, April 20, as the Andrew Jackson boys’ track team was also runner-up at the meet.

Khamoni Rockeymore-Crews, Rock Hill Girls’ Track: The Bearcats’ sophomore won the 100-meter dash (12.77) and 200-meter dash (25.50) at the Rock Hill City Championships at South Pointe High, April 20-21.

Rockeymore-Crews also finished as runner-up in the long jump (16-7) at the same event as the

Rock Hill girls’ track team also finished second to host, South Pointe.

Emma Skovran, Nation Ford Softball: The Falcons’ senior outfielder went 7-for-7 at the plate as Nation Ford beat Rock Hill and Spring Valley this week.

Skovran went 4-for-4 with a triple and three singles, two RBI, one run and three stolen bases in an 8-1 win over Rock Hill, April 18.

Skovran was 3-for-3 at the plate with one RBI, two runs scored, a stolen base and two putouts in centerfield in a 12-0 victory over Spring Valley, April 21.

Nation Ford is 7-8 overall this season.
