Vote: Who is the Herald News Baseball Player of the Week for May 23-28

FALL RIVER — The spring regular season has finally come to a conclusion. Greater Fall River baseball players put together some good performance before the upcoming tournament.

Here's your chance to vote for the top players from last week.

Westport's Max Morotti captured The Herald News Baseball Player of the Week honors for May 16-21. He won a close race with 25% of the vote.

Diman's Byron Bell finished second with 20% of the vote followed by Connolly's Jayden Sousa, who finished with 19%.

This poll, which ends on Jun. 3, involves baseball.

Jaryn Mitchell, Atlantis Charter

Mitchell pitched seven innings against Wareham, allowing just two earned runs. He also had a triple at the plate. Mitchell contributed a pair of singles, two runs scored and two stolen bases against Rising Tide.

Devon Parides, Atlantis Charter

Parides contributed a double, triple and scored a run against Rising Tide.

Ethan Frias, Atlantis Charter

Frias pitched seven strong innings against Cape Cod Tech., striking out 12 batters. He also had two hits and two RBI at the plate.

Seamus Marshall, Stang

Marshall collected the victory on the hill against B-R. He pitched the complete-game win, striking out seven while allowing just a walk, an earned run and three hits.

Jayden Sousa, Connolly

Sousa went 3-for-4 in a win against Southeastern. He also went 2-for-4 with a three-run triple and scored three runs against Holbrook.

Nico Chaves, Connolly

Chaves went 3-for-4 in a win against Southeastern.

James Russell, Connolly

Russell collected the win on the hill against Holbrook, allowing just two hits and struck out six in five innings.

Colby Smith, Joseph Case

Smith collected the win on the hill against Hull. He allowed just three hits, three earned runs, two walks while striking out 10 batters.

Cooper Khoury, Joseph Case

Khoury went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI against Hull.

Jacob Poitras, Joseph Case

Poitras had a triple, a walk, scored three times and had four RBI against Hull.

Tyler Cabral, Joseph Case

Cabral collected the win on the hill against Fairhaven, allowing five hits, an earned run while striking out five.

Samuel Perry, Diman

Perry pitched a complete-game win against West Bridgewater, allowing just two hits, no walks, no earned runs while striking out 13.

Christian Connell, Diman

Connell drove in the tying run with an RBI double against Bristol-Plymouth.

Josh Boria, Durfee

Boria came on in relief and five innings of no-hit ball against Apponequet. He walked four and fanned three batters. Boria also had an RBI single.

Sabastian Reis, Durfee

Reis drove the first pitch to deep center field for an RBI double against Apponequet. He also had a pair of hits, scored twice and drove in two runs.

Ethan Cambra, Durfee

Cambra was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against Brockton. He also scored two runs and had three RBI. Cambra tripled with the bases loaded and scored the eventual winning run on a wild pitch against Stang.

Alexis Montilla, Durfee

Montilla had two hits, including the go-ahead RBI double, a run scored and two RBI against Brockton. He also picked up a win on the hill against Stang.

Jay Lynch, SBR

Lynch picked up the win on the hill against Dartmouth, pitching eight innings and allowing eight hits, no runs, a walk and six strikeouts.

Chandler Doehler, SBR

Doehler had three hits, a walk and scored a run against Dartmouth.

Dean Gobeil, SBR

Gobeil had three hits and drove in three runs in a win against Case.

Chris Wilson, Westport

Wilson went 2-for-4 with three RBI against Southeastern.

Nick Arruda, Westport

Arruda was 3-for-4, two runs, two RBI, and three stolen base against West Bridgewater.

Connor James, Westport

James was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI against Westport.

Luke Finglas, Westport

Finglas collected three hits, scored three runs, stole a base and had an RBI against Southeastern.
