Meet this week's Louisville high school boys athlete of the week from North Bullitt

It's a double.

Not only is this week's Courier Journal girls athlete of the week a KHSAA championship-qualifying bowler, so is the boys winner.

North Bullitt senior bowler Dakota Waskom won the KHSAA boys bowling singles championship last week and won the hearts of fans this week, earning the boys AOTW award against a talented field.

Holy Cross junior Jacob Hand (20.8 ppg, 6.9 rpg) has proven to be one of the best bucket getters in the city. On Thursday, Hand went off yet again for 28 points and 12 rebounds in the Cougars' 80-56 win over Whitefield Academy.

Julian Miles, South Oldham

The Dragons picked up a huge 80-71 win Monday over DeSales. Sophomore guard Julian Miles led the way with 27 points and six rebounds.

North Bullitt senior bowler Dakota Waskom won the KHSAA boys bowling singles championship Tuesday. Waskom barely made the top eight before going on a run in the two-game semifinals that qualified him for the stepladder. Waskom defeated Henderson County's Austin Lander (214-146), Butler's Peyton Troutt (171-157) and Trinity's Connor Woosley (217-189) en route to the title.

Trinity sophomore bowler Connor Woosley has a bright future ahead of him. On Wednesday, Woosley helped lead the Shamrocks to a KHSAA state bowling team title, before finishing as the state runner-up in the singles competition.
