Cast your vote for the Mansfield News Journal Male Athlete of the Week.

Here are your nominees:

• Mansfield Senior’s Will Payne was named the OCC Diver of the Year when he won the diving competition with a 469.50 breaking Joe Dropsey’s school record of 443 set back in 1981.

• Lexington’s Jacob Hathaway broke Cameron Art’s 15-year old OCC backstroke record with a 52.83 to claim the individual OCC title in the event. He also won the 100 free with a 47.50.

• Ashland’s Rylan McDaniel was named the Ohio Cardinal Conference Male Swimmer of the Year after winning the 100 breaststroke (57.04) besting his own meet record, the 200 IM (2:00.81) and was a part of the winning 200 medley relay team.

• Ashland’s Luke Denbow scored 37 points in a 66-48 win over Lexington and added 42 in a 78-67 win over Ontario which tied the single-game scoring record for the Arrows set by Tom Malone in 1970. He also made seven 3-pointers, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished six assists and recorded five steals.

• Lucas’ Ty Lehnhart scored 13 points in a 52-46 win over Crestline and 11 in a 56-34 win over Buckeye Central.

• Crestview’s Jarek Ringler scored 14 points in a 65-55 win over St. Paul.

• Shelby’s Marshall Shepherd scored 12 of his 16 points in the third quarter in a win over Ontario.

• Madison’s Isaac Brooks scored 15 points in a 62-50 win over Orrville.

• Colonel Crawford’s Mason Studer had back-to-back monster performances for the Eagles over the weekend combining for 49 points, 15 rebounds (nine offensive), six assists and nine steals in wins over Buckeye Central and state-ranked Lexington. Studer popped off for 30 points against the Bucks.

• The Bucyrus bowling team won the inaugural Wynford Winter Classic baker tournament with a team score of 3,336 which was a mere 42 pins more than runner-up Liberty-Benton.

Voting ends at 7 p.m. on Friday.
