Vote for the Montgomery-area girls high school athlete of the week for the beginning of February

It's time to vote for the Montgomery area girls high school athlete of the week. This week's poll covers January 30 to February 5.

You can learn about this week's candidates and submit your votes below. DO NOT SEND VOTES BY EMAIL. Only votes submitted via the poll below will be counted.

HS BASKETBALL:Alabama AHSAA basketball playoffs: Area tournament brackets for Montgomery girls, boys

Alison Bowen, track and field, Brewbaker Tech: Placed 2nd in the shot put at the AHSAA Class 4A-5A Indoor State Championships in Birmingham on Feb. 4, with a throw of 35 feet, 8.25 inches. Helped the Rams place fourth as an overall team.

Isabella Johnson, track and field, Montgomery Academy: At the 1A-3A Indoor State Championships in Birmingham on Feb. 3, won the shot put with a throw of 34 feet. Helped the Eagles finish eighth overall.

Brinkley Long, basketball, Fort Dale Academy: Scored 17 points, dished 4 assists and grabbed 2 rebounds in a 64-34 win over Bessemer Academy on Feb. 2. Scored 14 points to go with 6 rebounds and 3 assists in a 55-23 win over Morgan Academy on Jan. 30.

Grace Seale, basketball, Hooper Academy: Scored 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a 50-43 win at Abbeville Christian in the AISA Class AA playoffs on Feb. 2.

Emma Kate Smith, basketball, Trinity Presbyterian: Scored 20 points and became Trinity's all-time leading scorer, with 2,176 career points, in a 56-16 win over Montevallo on Jan. 30.

Holly Smith, basketball, Holtville: Scored 30 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and added 4 steals and 2 assists in a 60-27 win over Maplesville on Feb. 3. Had 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals in a 70-59 win over Isabella on Feb. 2. Went for 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals in a 51-41 win at Thorsby on Jan. 31 and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 56-54 win at Stanhope Elmore on Jan. 30.

Katelyn Sutton, basketball, Alabama Christian: Put up 24 points, 7 assists, 6 steals and 5 rebounds in a 69-15 win at Notasulga on Feb. 2. Had 13 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in a 72-29 win over Ellwood Christian on Jan. 31.

Kyla Watts, basketball, Robert E. Lee: Scored 24 points in a 60-50 win over Stanhope Elmore on Feb. 2. Had 16 points and 5 rebounds in a 40-35 win over Jeff Davis on Jan. 31.
