Jack Bastarrika voted Morris/Sussex Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 1-7

After four days of voting, Mount Olive senior Jack Bastarrika was selected as the Morris/Sussex Wrestler of the Week.

Bastarrika went 4-0 last week, registering three falls and a decision in matches against Mendham, Montville, Southern and High Point. The senior defeated two-time state placewinner Connor Collins of Southern Regional, 4-3 at 132 pounds on Saturday.

Here were the other nominees:

Wyatt Frawley

Butler senior

Frawley went 5-0 last week and improved to 10-0 on the season. He registered three falls competing at 150 and 157 pounds in wins against Cresskill, DePaul, and Pequannock.

Niko Martinez

Kittatinny freshman

Martinez went 4-1 last week at 113 pounds with wins over Morris Hills, Newton, West Morris Central, and Morris Knolls. His only loss was to Delaware Valley. Three of his wins came by fall and a forfeit.
