The Naples Daily News Athlete of the Week poll for April 17-22 is here.

Each week the Naples Daily News staff will select one finalist in each high school sport. Nominees are derived from scores and stats emailed in by Collier County’s coaches during the week to sports@naplesnews.com. Readers can then vote in the online poll to determine who the Athlete of the Week will be.

Last week's winner was Community School girls lacrosse player Tatum Kocaj, who received 8,929 votes of the 17,892 cast (49.90%).

The poll will be posted at naplesnews.com each Monday, and voting will end at 10 a.m. Thursday each week. The winner will be announced on the @ndnprepzone Instagram page and on Twitter at @NDN_PrepZone. The winning athlete will receive a shirt courtesy of BSN Sports.

Here are the nominees for April 17-22:

Baseball

Ian Kozlowsky, Seacrest Country Day

Went 2 for 3 with a home run, 5 RBI, and 4 runs scored in a 14-12 win over Marco Island on Monday.

Softball

Gabby Alvarez, Barron Collier

Went 3 for 6 with 7 RBI and 3 runs scored in a 24-15 win over Naples in the CCAC Championship. On the week, Alvarez went 7 for 14 with 11 RBI over three games against Golden Gate, Immokalee, and Naples.

Boys Lacrosse

Thomas Lucia, Gulf Coast

Scored two goals with an assist in a low scoring, 5-3 win over Newsome in the Class 2A-Region 3 quarterfinals.

Girls Lacrosse

Hadley Tarrasch, Community School

Scored four goals to help the Seahawks advance to the Class 1A-Region 3 semifinals in a 10-7 win over Naples.

Boys Track and Field

Jose-Manuel Mejia Barbery, St. John Neumann

Won two events at districts, clocking a 17.77 in the 100 hurdles, followed by a win in 400 hurdles.

Girls Track and Field

Amarah Johnson, First Baptist

Finished in first place in the javelin at Class 1A-District 12, throwing 32.39 to advance to regionals.

Boys Tennis

Ivan Kisic, Gulf Coast

With their match against Venice tied 3-3, Kisic on 6-2, 6-2 over Venice to send the Sharks to the state championships in Seminole County.

Girls Tennis

Katie Ruci, Barron Collier

Won No. 1 singles in regionals, 6-0, 2-6, 10-3 over Fort Myers' Gabby Whitmer last week.
