Christian Vargas voted North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 22-28
After four days of voting, Pascack Valley senior Christian Vargas was selected as the North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week.
Vargas led the Panthers (13-4) to a 3-0 week, featuring a 52-48 Jamboree win over Ridgewood, to lift their win streak to eight games. He averaged 21 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Reilly Benowitz
Tenafly junior
Benowitz paced the Tigers (7-8) to a 2-1 week, featuring a 62-49 win over Hackensack in the BIT opening round. He averaged 20.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 4.7 assists.
Gavin Enright
Indian Hills senior
Enright sparked the Braves (10-5) to a 2-0 week, with victories over Eastern Christian and Pascack Hills. He averaged 18.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
Josh Lim
Old Tappan senior
Lim guided the Golden Knights (8-9) to a 3-0 week to stretch their winning streak to four games. He averaged 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals.
Zahkai Sylvester
Passaic sophomore
Sylvester was key to a 2-0 week for the Indians (7-11) that extended their winning streak to three games. He averaged 15.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 4.0 assists.
Tyler Tejada
Teaneck senior
Tejada led the Highwaymen (16-4) to a 3-0 week, including a 70-48 win over Demarest in the Bergen Jamboree Round of 16. He averaged 23.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.
Joel Walker
Hawthorne Christian junior
Walker guided the Defenders (9-7) to a 3-0 week, featuring Passaic County tournament wins over Paterson Arts and Manchester. He averaged 17.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
