Frank D'ercole voted North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 9-15

After four days of voting, Old Tappan senior guard Frank D'ercole has been selected as the North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 9-15.

D’ercole had three-game averages of 25.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 charges drawn for the Golden Knights (4-4). He had 24 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and drew a charge in the 63-47 victory over Woodbridge.

Essam Assaf

Elmwood Park junior guard

Assaf led the Crusaders (5-2) to a trio of victories, over Garfield, Pompton Lakes and Weehawken. He averaged 21.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals. He scored 25 in the 66-43 victory over Garfield and 26 in the 56-35 win over Weehawken.

Tarik Bicic

Rutherford junior guard

Bicic had three-game averages of 19.7 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for the Bulldogs (9-2). He had 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 68-53 win over Hawthorne. He had 14 points, nine rebounds and nine boards in a 59-48 win over Pompton Lakes.

Ryan Burke

Glen Rock senior guard

Burke paced the underrated Panthers (3-4) to back-to-back victories, over Lodi and Manchester. He had 18 points, 15 rebounds and four assists in the 72-31 victory over Lodi. He had 23 points and six rebounds in the 56-38 win over Manchester.

Luke Gaccione

St. Mary sophomore guard

Gaccione helped the Gaels (8-2) to a 3-0 week, with wins over Saddle Brook, Weehawken and Rutherford. He averaged 12.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.0 steals and shot 8-for-16 on three-pointers. He had team highs of 16 points and six assists in a 65-29 win over Weehawken.

Trey Packen

Wood-Ridge senior guard

Packen led the Blue Devils (4-7) to a trio of victories, over North Arlington, Saddle Brook and Hasbrouck Heights. He averaged 26.7 points, 15.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.7 blocks. He scored a career-high 35 in the 83-58 victory over North Arlington.
