Yoav Regev of Tenafly voted North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 2-8

After four days of voting, Tenafly senior swingman Yoav Regev has been selected as the North Jersey Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 2-8.

Regev guided the unranked Tigers (3-1) to victories over two ranked opponents. He had 25 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 50-47 victory over Demarest. He had 18 points, 10 rebounds four assists and three steals in a 71-57 win over previously-unbeaten Cresskill.

Nate Burleson

Ramapo junior guard

Burleson helped spark the Green Raiders (6-1) to a 3-0 week, with wins over Ridgewood, Northern Highlands and Immaculate of Montclair. He averaged 14 points, four rebounds and two assists. He hit a quartet of three-pointers and scored a game-high 18 in a 59-43 win over Immaculate.

Yasen Crawford

Kennedy senior guard

Crawford helped the Knights (5-2) stretch their winning streak to five with two wins over ranked opponents. He had 15 points, four steals, three rebounds and three assists in a 58-42 win over Eastside. He had 21 points, six assists, four steals and two rebounds in a 57-53 win over DePaul.

Evan Meberg

Bogota senior forward

Meberg continued his streak of scoring 30 or more points in every game this season for the Bucs (2-2). He hit a trio of three-pointers, scored 33 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 78-18 victory over Hawthorne Christian. He leads North Jersey in scoring at 34.5 per game.

Isiah Stang

Fort Lee junior guard

Stang led the up-and-coming Bridgemen (7-3) to a 3-0 week, with victories over Dwight Morrow, Dumont and West Milford. He averaged 16 points, four assists and three rebounds. He had 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 55-41 victory over Dumont.

Jordan Vega

Wallington senior guard

Vega lifted the Panthers (1-3) to their first victory of the season. He scored 40 points, featuring a quartet of three-pointers and 12 free throws, and had six rebounds in a 68-64 win over Wood-Ridge. He had 27 points, five steals and three rebounds in a 62-59 loss to Cliffside Park.
