Joshua Tejada voted North Jersey Boys Cross-Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 18-24

After four days of voting, Teaneck junior Joshua Tejada has been selected as the North Jersey Boys Cross-Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 18-24.

Tejada continues to impress with a fourth place finish at the large schools race at the Garret Invitational. He improved his Garret Mountain time by another 11 seconds as he seeks to become the Highwaymen's first state qualifier in eight years.

Here were the other nominees:

Dylan Decambre

Bergen Tech senior

He continued to make his case as the early favorite for the Lou Molino Bergen Meet of Champions by winning the Big North Liberty batch meet in a North Jersey season's best 16:08 at Darlington County Park.

Paul Maguire

Don Bosco senior

Maguire ran the fastest time by a North Jersey runner in 12 years in a third place finish in his race at the Bowdoin Invitational race at Bowdoin Park, site of the annual Nike Northeast Regional race. His 16:29.2 on the challenging course is 12th all-time in North Jersey history.

Aidan Morrow

Hasbrouck Heights sophomore

Morrow continued to show that he's one of the top sophomores in the state, winning the small schools race at the Stewart Memorial Invitational at Oak Ridge Park in Clark. His time is 17 seconds than his brother Evan, now a freshman at Rutgers, ran in winning the North 2 sectional at the same course last fall.

Bryce Teto

Paramus senior

Teto continued his course tour with a visit to the Thompson Park Class Meet and a solid fourth place finish in the senior race (fifth overall) at the site of the Central sectional race.
