Luke Pash voted North Jersey Boys Cross-Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 2-8
After four days of voting, Ridgewood sophomore Luke Pash has been selected as the North Jersey Boys Cross-Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 2-8.
He's led a resurgent Ridgewood team from his first ever varsity race less than a month ago and scored an impressive win Tuesday at the Big North Freedom race.
Here were the other nominees:
Younes Abada
Secaucus senior
Abada was fourth in the NJIC Meadowlands division meet at Garret Mountain on Monday and then led the Patriots to victory at the All Hallows Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City on Friday.
Joseph Capuzzo
Waldwick senior
He won his second straight NJIC Patriot title and broke a 27-year-old school record for the historic Garret Mountain course at Woodland Park, finishing the 5,000 meters in 17:06.
Dylan Decambre
Bergen Tech senior
He won a pair of major titles this week, winning the Big North Liberty title at Darlington Thursday, running a season's best of 16:04, and then held off fellow Bergen contender Bryce Teto of Paramus in winning the North Jersey Invitational at Garret Mountain.
Brayden Lowe-Massi
Mahwah senior
Lowe-Massi followed up his win at the Big North Patriot meet last week with an easy win at the Saugerties Invitational in upstate New York on Saturday, breaking 16 minutes on a course for the first time.
Aidan Morrow
Hasbrouck Heights sophomore
Morrow has picked right up where his brother, Rutgers freshman Evan Morrow has left off, leading the Aviators to their third straight Meadowlands division title with an impressive individual win.
