Becton voted North Jersey Football Team of the Week for Week 10

After four days of voting, Becton has been selected as the North Jersey Football Team of the Week for Week 10.

The fifth-seeded Wildcats (7-3) topped No. 4 Wallington, 28-14, in a North 1, Group 1 opener. It avenged last month’s 32-20 road loss to the Panthers. The Wildcats rushed for more than 300 yards, with senior RB Sonny Ragusa carrying 23 times for 188 yards and two TD. Senior LB Bobby Colaneri had 10 tackles.

Here were the other nominees:

Eastside

In their first postseason appearance since 2007, the No. 5 Ghosts (6-3) upset No. 4 Bridgewater-Raritan in double-overtime, 22-21, in North 2, Group 5. Senior RB Amir Smith ran for the game-winning two-point conversion, after junior QB Carnell Goodwin threw an 8-yard TD pass to senior WR Jair Stewart.

Pascack Valley

The fourth-seeded Panthers (7-3) beat No. 5 Montville, 34-17, in North 2, Group 3. Senior WR Dylan Hutchinson caught TD passes of 4 and 21 yards. Senior QB Ethan Silcher passed for 182 yards and two scores. Senior Joaquin Grijalva kicked field goals of 28 and 19 yards and four extra points.

Passaic Tech

The third-seeded Bulldogs outlasted No. 6 Montclair in triple-overtime, 20-14, in North 1, Group 5. Sophomore Travon Dye scored on a 9-yard run to win it. Dye scored on a 7-yard run in the first OT. Senior Justin Vazquez returned a second-half interception 11 yards for a score to tie it, 7-7.

Ridgefield Park

The fourth-seeded Scarlets (8-2) edged No. 5 Lenape Valley, 22-21, in North 2, Group 2. Junior QB Brevin Cooney threw two TD passes to senior WR Jalexin Pimental, the second a 35-yard score in the fourth to tie it at 21. Senior Andrew Vargas kicked two extra points and threw for a two-point conversion.

West Milford

The sixth-seeded Highlanders (5-5) knocked off No. 3 Lincoln, 20-14, in North 1, Group 3. Senior QB Dylan Connors carried 19 times for 120 yards and two TD, including the game winner in the fourth on a 1-yard run. Senior Cody Eldridge kicked field goals of 33 and 32 points and two extra points.
