Autumn Ritter voted North Jersey Girls Cross-Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 18-24

After four days of voting, Northern Highlands junior Autumn Ritter has been selected as the North Jersey Girls Cross-Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 18-24.

There's no more improved elite runner than Ritter, who took than a minute off of her previous best time at Garret Mountain, and broke 20 minutes on the course en route to winning the large schools race at the Garret Invitational.

Here were the other nominees:

Mary Daclan

Paramus sophomore

She traveled to the Thompson Park Class Meet at the site of NJSIAA Central sectional championship and finiished third in the sophomore race and 13th overall in the meet that featured five of the state's top 20 teams.

Amandine Fernandez

Bogota senior

Another Oak Ridge Park meet, another personal best for the Buc standout, who took seven seconds off of her performance from last week to take fourth place in the Stewart Memorial Invitational.

Zoe Merryman

Mahwah senior

Merryman won her second straight invitational race at Garret Mountain Saturday, taking nearly 30 seconds off her previous best time in winning the small schools race at the Garret Invitational.

Morgan Uhlhorn

Lakeland senior

Uhlhorn continued her breakout season, with an easy victory in the C race at the multi-state Wild Safari Invitational at Great Adventure, finishing third overall among the five varsity races.
