Gina Rubio voted North Jersey Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week for May 8-14

After four days of voting, Paramus Catholic junior Gina Rubio has been selected as the North Jersey Girls Track and Field Performer of the Week for May 8-14.

She continues to develop as a sprinter, winning the E 100 and 200 in personal best times and also leading off the winning 4-x-100 team.

Here were the other nominees:

Molly Bennett

Northern Highlands senior

North Jersey's best 400 hurdler, also placed in two other open events and scored a career best 56.81 400 split in the A division 4-x-400.

Sanai Bryant

Dumont senior

Bryant won the C division 100 and 200 titles and sizzled in an anchor leg that clinched the 4-x-100 title.

Kylie Castillo

Ridgefield sophomore

She scored personal bests in winning both the 200 and 400 and also got second in the 100 in the D division.

Abby Dennis

Old Tappan sophomore

Overcame a fall in the trials to run fourth fastest 100 hurdle time in Bergen history and also won the B division 100 and 200 titles.

Kiley Mironenko

Waldwick senior

Mironenko had the best triple jump of the day, just under 37 feet, had her first 18 foot long jump and also won the D 100 hurdles.

Niki Woods

Demarest senior

Woods continues to dominate the javelin throw at the state level and has remained in the top 10 in the country in the event all season.
