Emily Pogorelec voted North Jersey Girls Volleyball Player of the Week for Nov. 1-6
After four days of voting, Wayne Valley senior outside hitter Emily Pogorelec has been selected as the North Jersey Girls Volleyball Player of the Week for Nov. 1-6.
Pogorelec propelled the Indians to the North 1, Group 3 final with back-to-back strong performances. She had 10 kills, 13 digs and a block in a quarterfinal win over Morris Hills, plus nine kills, 11 digs and two aces in the semifinals against Fair Lawn.

Emma Evancho
River Dell junior setter
In the Hawks' 2-1 upset of top-seeded Demarest in the North 1, Group 2 semifinals, Evancho delivered 21 assists, seven digs and an ace. That followed up a quarterfinal win over Jefferson Township, in which she had 12 assists, five digs and five aces.
Emma Gobo
Old Tappan junior setter
Gobo put forth a tremendous effort in a 2-1 upset of defending North 1, Group 2 champ Sparta with 33 assists, 13 digs and a block. In two playoff victories, she notched 56 assists, 18 digs and two aces, both of which came in a win over Pascack Valley.
Jenna Joyce
Clifton senior libero
Joyce fortified the Mustangs' back-row defense with 19 digs in two NJSIAA matches, adding 10 service points and three aces to help her team reach the North 1, Group 4 sectional final. Her four assists vs. Memorial (West New York) equaled a season high.
Ericka Nerona
Glen Rock sophomore setter
Nerona helped the Panthers reach their first North 1, Group 1 final by totaling 37 assists and 10 digs in sectional victories over Bergen Charter and Midland Park. She also served 29 points, including seven aces, as Glen Rock improved to 17-5.
Jocelyn Rodriguez
Rutherford senior outside hitter
The Bulldogs won a pair of 2-1 matches in state-tournament play, and Rodriguez made big contributions with her hitting (31 kills) and defense (50 digs). She followed up a 14 kill-27 dig double-double versus Hanover Park with 17-23 against Secaucus.
