VOTE HERE: Northeast Florida high school Athlete of the Week poll: Oct. 31

The results are in.

Middleburg volleyball outside hitter Connor Rahn is the Florida Times-Union's ninth Northeast Florida Athlete of the Week for the 2022-23 high school sports season, covering the week of Oct. 17-22.

The junior led the Broncos to the District 3-5A championship, blasting 19 kills against Menendez, 23 against Daytona Beach Seabreeze and 28 in the championship match against Ridgeview.

She placed first in a vote that also included top performers Taylor Bradshaw (Oakleaf football), Alyssa Hardy (Stanton girls golf), Matthew Koziol (Nease boys swimming), Tyler Mawhinney (Fleming Island boys golf), Ella Mickler (Bolles girls cross country), Tyler Terry (Wolfson football), Walker White (Providence boys cross country) and Annie Wohlgemuth (Ponte Vedra girls swimming).

This week's vote

It's time to vote for Florida Times-Union's Athlete of the Week for the week of October 24-29, 2022.

The Times-Union gathers nominees from scores, stats and nominations e-mailed to the sports desk during the week by coaches across Northeast Florida. Coaches can e-mail these stats and scores to preps@jacksonville.com.

This week's voting begins Monday morning and closes at 10 a.m. Thursday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour.

Here are the nominees for Oct. 24-29:

Kasey Casiple, Ridgeview volleyball

The senior libero recorded 32 digs against Pensacola Washington and 33 against Tallahassee Lincoln, as well as nine assists, helping the Panthers into the Region 1-5A final.

Symeon Cobham-Portorreal, Jackson football

The senior defensive tackle intercepted a pass and returned it for the go-ahead touchdown as Jackson beat Raines 21-12 for the Tigers' first district title in 13 years.

Danielle Fendenheim, Mandarin bowling

Recorded a score of 632, best overall in the competition, while leading the Mustangs to the District 1 girls championship.

Joey Hage, Tocoi Creek boys golf

The freshman won medalist honors with a 71 and led the Toros to the District 4-2A boys team championship at Palatka Golf Club.

Haylee Hite, Beachside girls swimming

The freshman won the 200-yard individual medley, the 100 backstroke and a pair of relays in the Barracudas' first-ever District 3-2A meet.

T.J. Lane, Middleburg football

The senior tailback rushed for 351 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries in a 35-14 win against Orange Park.

Violet Robbins, Bolles girls golf

The multi-sport competitor shot a 72 at Hidden Hills, winning medalist honors and lifting the Bulldogs to a district championship.

Matt Ryan, Nease boys cross country

The junior ran a personal-best 15:21.2 in the Region 1-4A  championship in Gainesville, finishing second overall and leading the Panthers to third in the team standings.

Brody Singley, West Nassau boys swimming

The sophomore won the 200 and 500-yard freestyle during the District 2-2A meet at Cecil Field.

Lindy White, Ponte Vedra girls cross country

Ran 18:24.8 in the Region 1-3A race in Gainesville to lead the Sharks to the girls team championship with 37 points.
