Stanton swimmer Mehdi Elaoufir is the Florida Times-Union's 11th Northeast Florida Athlete of the Week for the 2022-23 high school sports season, covering the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 5.

The senior swimmer won the Region 1-2A championship in the boys 200-yard individual medley and the 100 freestyle.

He placed first in a vote that also included top performers Ava Brinkman (Fleming Island girls swimming), Jillian Candelino (Bolles girls cross country), Nancy Cox (Ponte Vedra girls golf), Rylan Hale (Yulee football), Sydney Kambach (Christ's Church volleyball), T.J. Lane (Nease football), Henry Robards (Episcopal boys golf) and Matt Ryan (Nease boys cross country).

This week's vote

It's time to vote for Florida Times-Union's Athlete of the Week for the week of November 7-12, 2022.

The Times-Union gathers nominees from scores, stats and nominations e-mailed to the sports desk during the week by coaches across Northeast Florida. Coaches can e-mail these stats and scores to preps@jacksonville.com.

This week's voting begins Monday morning and closes at 10 a.m. Thursday. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour.

Here are the nominees for Nov. 7-12:

Sean Ashenfelder, Creekside football

The sophomore accounted for four touchdowns and more than 250 yards to lead the Knights past Navarre 47-20 in the Class 4S playoffs.

Marcel Bowes, Raines football

The senior defensive back recorded a fourth-quarter interception, a fumble recovery and 10 tackles to help the Vikings defeat White 34-22 in the Class 2M playoffs.

Hunter Kratochvil, Yulee boys soccer

The junior scored three goals and an assist to lead the Hornets to season-opening wins over Clay and Jackson.

Henry Robards, Episcopal boys golf

The junior shot a 71 in the Class 1A championship, good for a second-place individual finish while helping the Eagles to second in the team standings as well.

Violet Robbins, Bolles girls golf

The junior led the Bulldogs to seventh place in Class 1A, the highest finish among Jacksonville teams, by shooting a 74 in Saturday's state championship.

Sydney Schmidt, St. Johns Country Day girls soccer

The freshman scored a hat trick against Gainesville Buchholz and two game-winning goals to win road games at Panhandle contenders Tallahassee Chiles and Tallahassee Lincoln.
