Vote now in Coventry Scarecrow Contest

Oct. 18—COVENTRY — Voting is now open for the 2022 Coventry Scarecrow Contest.

The public can vote on their favorite scarecrow, which are up for viewing on the Coventry Town Green at the intersections of Routes 31 and 44 by Dunkin' Donuts and at business locations in Coventry Village. Voting is available to all members of the public.

This contest features many creative scarecrows made by people and businesses. Lesley Munshower, director of the Coventry Parks and Recreation Department, appreciated what people came up with.

" I'm pleased," Munshower said regarding the scarecrows that are entered in the contest. " We have a good variety and people were really creative."

Among the scarecrows entered into the contest was a scarecrow of Felonious Gru and pumpkins painted like Minions from the " Despicable Me" film series. This scarecrow is displayed in front of the Booth & Dimock Memorial Library.

Another scarecrow entered into the contest is of a farmer couple, which can be found in front of Coventry Arts & Antiques.

The public can vote on their favorite scarecrow via a survey link that is available on the Coventry Town Website ( coventryct. org). To find the survey link, scroll down to the town Facebook page on the homepage of the Town of Coventry Website.

Voting closes on Friday, October 28. The first, second and third place winners will be announced on the Coventry CT Parks & Recreation Facebook Page.

Top finishers in the scarecrow contest will receive certificates and prizes in the mail.
