Pine Island Pizza v. Grandpa’s

The Cinderella of this tournament has another difficult challenge in this round. Can Pine Island Pizza’s N.Y. slice-loving fans pull off another upset? They did it once and can do it again. (5465 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia; 239-283-7992; pineislandpizza.com)

Backed by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy’s impressive 8.7 rating, Grandpa’s cruised into this round. Can Bonita Spring’s lone representative ride the momentum under the tournament’s biggest Cinderella? The 40-plus-year-old restaurant is certainly up to the challenge.  (27030 Old 41 Road, Bonita Springs; 239-992-7119; grandpaspizzamenu.com)

Nice Guys v. Citrola’s

One of just two remaining Cape Coral places left in the bracket, Nice Guy’s is more than capable of advancing again. Its 319 votes in the Sweet 16 was the third highest received by a team in that round. Bracketologists like those odds. (1404 Cape Coral Parkway E., Cape Coral; 239-549-7542; niceguyspizza.com)

Citrola’s will put its delightfully thin crust up against Nice Guy’s soft and chewy one. Do Southwest Florida pizza lovers really prefer thin crust? The College Parkway eatery is counting on it. (8841 College Parkway, south Fort Myers; 239-466-1113; citrolasoncollege.com)

Saucy Meatball v. Joe Daddy’s

Saucy Meatball did Gateway proud by making a late charge and advancing to the Elite 8 by an 83-point margin of victory. Sal Basile gives it the pizza pedigree to advance again. (12401 Commerce Lakes Drive, Gateway; 239-800-7172; saucymeatball.com)

Joe Calderone of Joe Daddy’s used spreadsheets to help calculate the exact amounts of flour/water/salt/sauce and cheese to craft the perfect pie. That winning formula just may put him in the next round as well. (2481 Del Prado Blvd. N., Cape Coral; 239-573-6600; joedaddyspizza.com)

Downtown House of Pizza surged into this round, winning by a whopping 392 votes. Judging by those numbers, the No. 2 and highest remaining seed is capable of reaching the Final Four. (1520 Hendry St., Fort Myers; 239-337-3467; downtownhouseofpizza.com)
