Polls close at noon Wednesday. Read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

You can vote multiple times. This is meant to be a fun way to show support for athletes, not scientific.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.

BOYS TRACK

Mason Lawyer, Boise: Won four gold medals at the 5A state meet with titles in the 100 (10.46), 200 (21.62), 4x200 relay (1:26.97) and 4x400 relay (3:22.67).

Landon Helms, Emmett: Helms claimed the 4A boys 110 hurdles in 13.69, smashing the 1985 record of 14.08 held by Capital’s Darrin Harris. Helms added victories in the 300 hurdles (38.15), long jump (23-1) and pole vault (15-0).

James Onanubosi, Bishop Kelly: Scored a repeat in the 4A boys 100 (10.54) and added his first title in the 200 (21.96). He also ran a leg on the Knights’ record-setting 4x100 relay (42.16). His 100 time of 10.51 in the prelims was a state record.

Trais Higgins, Nampa: Was part of Nampa’s 4x200 relay that broke a 38-year-old school record (1:29.19) and won a state title. He added a second-place finish in the 4x100 (42.81) that broke a 12-year-old school record, a third-place medal in the 100 (10.98) with another school record and took third in the long jump (21-9.75).

Caleb Woodland, Meridian: Moved up one spot on the podium from a year ago, winning the 5A boys 110 hurdles (14.44) and taking second in the 300 hurdles (38.52).

Cace Lewis, Payette: Was the only male athlete from District Three to bring home a state title in 3A competition, winning the high jump with a clearance of 6-2.

Joe Reiber, Melba: Swept the sprint races at the 2A state meet with victories in the 100 (11.16) and 200 (22.26) and ran a leg on the Mustangs’ winning 4x100 relay (44.46). He set a state meet record with a clearance of 6-10 for a second-place finish in the high jump.

Grady Mylander, Nampa Christian: Nearly won all three distances races with first-place showings in the 800 (1:57.37) and 1,600 (4:17.75) and a runner-up finish in the 3,200 (9:25.00).

GIRLS TRACK

Eva Lowder, Centennial: Using a borrowed pole, the junior cleared 13 feet, 9 inches on her second attempt to win the 5A girls pole vault, besting the record of 13-0 set the day before by Emmett’s Tatum Richards in 4A competition. Her mark ranks among the top 10 in the nation this season.

Logan Smith, Boise: Repeated in the 5A girls 800 in record fashion (2:09.07) and added wins in the 4x400 relay (3:57.10) and 4x800 (9:18.92). She also placed second in the 200 (25.24) to help the Brave win the team title for the second year in a row.

Jacoba Luteyn, Bishop Kelly: Set a 4A meet record with her heave of 44-3.25 in the shot put and made it a sweep of the throwing events with her victory in the discus (144-0).

Lauren McCall, Timberline: Finished the 5A state meet with four gold medals after claiming individual wins in the 400 (56.0) and 300 hurdles (44.11) and running legs on the Wolves’ winning 4x200 (1:47.79) and 4x100 (48.39) relays.

Isis Villafane, Ridgevue: Came from behind in two different races to win the 4A girls 400 in 56.13 and the 800 sprint medley relay (1:48.89).

Emma Hillam, Fruitland: Completed a challenging distance sweep at the 3A state meet with her wins in the 800 (2:15.72), 1,600 (5:11.89) and 3,200 (11:15.43). She finished the meet with four golds after running a leg on the Grizzlies’ winning sprint medley relay (1:52.61).

Sydney Denison, Payette: Took home first place in both the long jump (17-11.5) and triple jump (36-10.5) at the 3A state meet.

Anna Dixon, Greenleaf: Was the only District Three athlete — male or female — to win a title at the 1A state meet. Dixon ran to victory in the 1,600 in 5:25.11.
