Vote: The Oklahoman's high school athletes of the week poll for April 10-16

Voting is open for the next oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for April 10-16.

The deadline is noon Friday. Athlete of the week voting occurs each week during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports. This ballot includes baseball, golf, slowpitch softball, soccer, tennis and track and field.

Here are the nominees for April 10-16.

Baseball

Cale Duncan, So., Bethel: Duncan was nearly unstoppable last week. He batted 7-of-9 (.778) with two doubles and 10 RBIs.

Grayson Roberson, Jr., Bridge Creek: Roberson had it going from the plate last week. He batted .455 which included one triple, four doubles and five singles. He also tallied 11 RBIs.

Noah Smith, Sr., Piedmont: Smith recorded a .467 batting average as he went 7-of-15 from the plate. He tallied one triple, three doubles and three singles. He brought in five runs as well.

Boys golf

Ryder Cowan, Sr., Oklahoma Christian School: The OU signee carded a 65 to place first at the Kingfisher Invitational. He led the Saints as they won the tournament.

JonJon Martens, Jr., Choctaw: Martens was one of two Choctaw golfers to finish in the top five at the Oklahoma 7 Conference tournament. He shot a 78 to place fifth, helping the Yellowjackets finish second as a team.

Parker Sands, Jr., Edmond North: Sands recorded scores of 75 and 74 to place second at the Owasso Invitational. He also tied for fourth with rounds of 72 and 68 at the Husky Golf Classic.

Girls golf

Lauren Dage, Jr., Edmond Memorial: With a 73, Dage finished fourth at the Del City Invitational. She had the Bulldogs’ lowest score as they won the tournament.

Lainey Stevens, Jr., Choctaw: Stevens carded a 79 at the Oklahoma 7 Conference tournament, and she won a scorecard playoff to place second. The Yellowjackets finished second as a team.

Kamryn Zuniga, Sr., Carl Albert: With a career-best score of 72, Zuniga placed third at the Del City Invitational.

Boys soccer

Roman Hemphill, Jr., Edmond Memorial: Hemphill provided both goals in the Bulldogs’ 2-1 win against Northwest Classen.

Fabian Hernandez, Sr., Crooked Oak: Hernandez tallied five goals on eight shots and also added three assists last week as the Ruf-Nex extended their win streak to nine matches.

Jose Romero, So., Southeast: Romero totaled six goals and three assists as Southeast went 3-0 over the past week.

Girls soccer

Ruta Andrews, Sr., Westmoore: Andrews led the Jaguars to a 2-1 victory against rival Moore and a 4-0 win over U.S. Grant during the past week. Andrews set the tone for Westmoore, shifting between forward and center attacking midfielder.

Brae Baker, Sr., Bethany: Baker added two of Bethany’s three goals in a shutout win against Chickasha. She has 32 goals on the season.

Elizabeth Gonzalez, So., Northwest Classen: Gonzalez provided two goals in a 4-1 victory against Lawton. The sophomore striker is a three-time game MVP this season.

Softball

Bella Cabral, Choctaw: Cabral hammered five home runs last week and drove in six runs from the plate in her four games. She crossed the plate 10 times as well.

Katie Larson, Sr., North Rock Creek: Larson batted .581 with seven home runs, 24 RBI with 10 doubles and one triple last week. She’s helped NRC to a 26-1 record.

Oceanna Schranz, Sr., Union City: She batted .647 with 11 hits to help Union City last week. She hit three doubles, one triple and brought in six runs in her six games.

Boys tennis

Mason Fair, Sr., Classen SAS: Fair is having an outstanding season, and on Thursday, he claimed the No. 1 singles title at Elk City’s tournament.

Eli Lemley, Fr., Edmond Memorial: He claimed the No. 2 singles championship Saturday at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference tournament.

Keegan McLaughlin, Sr., Carl Albert: He won the No. 1 singles title at Guthrie’s tournament last week.

Girls tennis

Audrey Crooks, Fr., Oklahoma Christian School: She won the No. 1 singles crown at Guthrie’s tournament.

Kathy Liu, Fr., Stillwater: She placed second in No. 1 singles at the COAC tournament.

Victoria Ricaurte-Cabas, Jr., Edmond North: She had some great performances at the COAC tournament and went on to claim the No. 1 singles title.

Boys track

Elijah Green, Jr., Classen SAS: He won the 400-meter dash with an impressive time of 49.59 seconds at Yukon’s meet last Thursday. Green also won the 400 (50.95) and 200 (22.71) at the Oklahoma City Public Schools meet Saturday.

Dade Humes, Jr., Piedmont: He won the 3,200 with a time of 9:35.76 at Yukon’s meet.

Major Sharp, Jr., Tuttle: He won the 110 hurdles (15.76) and 300 hurdles (41.05) at Ardmore’s meet last Monday. He placed second in the 110 hurdles (15.19) and 300 hurdles (41.77) at Duncan’s meet Friday.

Girls track

Deyanna Douglas, Jr., Midwest City: She won the shot put with a toss of 43 feet, 2 inches at Yukon’s meet.

Alisondra Pope, Jr., Moore: She cleared 11-6 to place first in the pole vault at Duncan’s meet. Pope also placed second in the 100 hurdles (16.00) as she helped Moore finish atop the team standings.

Caya Smith, Jr., Putnam West: She won the long jump (18-3) and high jump (5-2) at Elk City’s meet Friday.
